Art - 100%. I'm finding my base fitness unreal right now and I can ride at threshold for days.... but to really tap into the short VO2 efforts (1-5') I really need to training and feel that regularly. So that's the plan. I'll be doing more this week and also doing them race week. The endurance is there but these gravel races are more like road races for the early to mid miles. You need to be able surge, attack, cover attacks, and bridge back when needed... all VO2 work.

interesting, I was just listening to a podcast that pretty much said you should always do VO2 workouts. he kind of said for the rest of your life when you work out. That VO2 workouts always have benefits in your workouts, but he did caution that it is a supplement to your workout and not to just rely on them as your sole workout.
