Wow, so much variety on this trip! You've got some serious "bike tour porn" photos there. ;) That terrain is crazy rugged. Looks like a great time.

2300m certainly is big though it can feel much harder when there is a lot of steep terrain (like this ride!). We've got some 3000m+ days planned for later in the trip. Hard to wrap your head around if you come from areas without much vertical but once you do a few big days you realize they aren't too bad as long as the pace isn't crazy:)

Last year's Ultra Tour Monte Rosa averaged 3,000 m of climb daily on foot so I can picture what that will be like for you. Yikes! I find it a lot harder on a bike. Southern Ontario mountains are a bit smaller than Revelstoke mountains for training. Have fun!

I'd rather do 3000m of climbing on the bike than on foot:) No downhill leg pounding to beat you up (though some rough roads can still beat you up a bit).

I train for downhill leg pounding! I really ought to train more for bike climbing since I can do the descents just fine. :)
