Finishing is better than the alternative!

One issue was the blue metal roads in the plantations, which were really hard to ride on. Today l worked with HVP and they told me the size of the road metal in that area was larger than usual, and log trucks often got flat tyres as a result.
The second issue was not reading the contours properly, and every 'down' ended up being an 'up'.
The third issue was lack of bike legs. I could wing it for the middle distance, but not for the long distance. I really should ride the bike more than twice a year.
The plus side was the wonderful RACV resort at Creswick. What a great place!

The chunky roads put me off MTBO. I want to spend a couple of hours toodling along some singletrack. Not out in the exposed rocky and unrideable access roads.
