Not that I advocated you both do orange, which might indeed have worked out better if you'd tried that from the start. Nor can I beat myself up too much for not anticipating, when I designed the courses, that it would rain cats and dogs for half an hour more or less right at the beginning of the start window. I think next time I should maybe add a beige course more like the brown last year - shorter and almost all descending from the start to the finish - and make the orange even more fond of using control locations right next to the most obvious available linear features (like #7, I think on orange, which I could have put on one of the cliffs overlooking the stream a little to the SE rather than on a charcoal platform in a fairly large but rather shallow reentrant).
next year = wonderful weather & complete triumph on beige for me - that's what I'm predicting, ha ha! thank you for all your course design work, someday I will figure it out.
