How did the surgery go?

The surgery went well, as far as I can tell and as far as I was told by some of the operating staff. I will ask the doctor more about how it went at the post-op appointment on the 28th. The recovery was quite gnarly over the first five days or so after the surgery. I should have been smart enough to fast and cleanse my insides starting a few days before the surgery and through this past week, to avoid some rather excruciating pain.
