It's useful for some of my travelling that Swiss train tickets are not normally for a specific train (and that the system is so well integrated that you can buy a ticket to Geneva on a small rural bus somewhere out the back of Bern).
I just realised it's 20 years since I went to the Italian 5 days. I think we had to work out the trains from a european rail guide, have a feeling we also went to Trento (though I might be confused with the World Schools). It sounds amazing.
The old Thomas Cook red books - still have a few of those of late 1980s/early 1990s vintage at home.
