I'm sorry to hear that, Alex! :( Wishing you as speedy of a recovery as possible.
That sucks. Sorry.
Take care.
Sorry, it's tough to start a vacation like that. I know you'll enjoy more ice cream and the pond.
Total bummer! It's going to suck for a bit, but it will get better. You're awesome and there is more awesomeness ahead!!
It must be bad if you didn't even think of finishing the race!
Hope it heals fast. No fun at all. :(
Sorry to hear of the injury. I have trekked a bike out with a flat at least once or twice from the far side of the French River to the parking lot.
I had no idea this race was going on, so close to places I've stomped. I know some of the finishers, even. Lori Muhr and husband Rick were my first marathon coaches.
What do you think of the area as a MTB-O venue?
So sorry to hear this, Alex :( Major hugs to you! Eat some yummy food and ice cream for me while on vacation :)
Aw, thanks you guys.
Sam, the woods that I saw looked pretty thick. But, I don't know how much shortcuts matter. It all comes down to permission, as always.
I've sprained my ankle more times than I can remember and my two lessons are that (i) it always healed pretty fast and (ii) nowadays I don't seem to be able to sprain the ankle anymore even when I bend it over quite badly - so maybe consider it an investment for the future..
