I used to have a Lifeproof case but since I got the water resistant iPhone7 14 months ago, I’ve just used a light rubber cover that protects the back and edges a little. I usually carry it in a front pack or PFD pocket so it’s not as exposed as a bike handlebar. In a torrential downpour or planned swim, I’d stick it in a dry bag but so far it has survived sweat and light rain.

I'd love to get a waterproof phone but my work "only" gets us iPhone 5SEs and most of you know what a cheapskate I am... Not going to buy a phone if I'm already given a pretty good one.
I wouldn't keep the phone on the handlebars except for navigating routes on the road bike

Lifeproof Nuud is a pretty good case. Waterproof and as small as it gets. I managed to fit my health card, some contact info and a $20 in the back too, after griding down some small tabs inside.
