Haven’t logged on here in forever, so figure rather than pouring through everyone’s individual logs... I’d go straight to the Centre of the action and post the Question in Super’s log.

Anyone racing Iroquoia? Looks like I could make that Saturday work and looking for fellow AP’ers willing to suffer a morning of August heat. Should I sign up ...I’ve never raced it before.

When is it?

Bender:
Sat Aug. 18th

7k, 18k, and 34k.

Nev - you could stay w us in T.O. on the Friday and then post race everyone welcome to the family farmhouse (next door to Rocky Ridge) to fall into pool and deck-beers.

I haven’t done ITT for quite a while and the course is quite a bit different now. I Wasn’t planning on racing but I’m pretty good at drinking by pools and probably could be convinced.

Very interested...at least the race part.

Won't be able to swing the swimming and beer.

Bender: I'll be probably fresh off drinking in Praha, which I bet is great training for it!

Signed up for this 34km sweat-fest in the suffering heat. Who’s with me? Let me know as they gave me a refer-a-friend code ...no discount to you, but apparently $5 credit for me towards a future race. Not going to find a better deal on the internet today; apparently only takes $5 bucks to buy my friendship and it doesn’t even come out of your own wallet.

Signed up for the 18k race. Fits my plans and schedule the best.

Hmmm... starting to think 18 would be a better fit. Perhaps will inquire if I can change courses and run with you ...atleast for as long as I can hang on to you.

I don’t see it as an option on the website but I bet they can do it.

Pretty big difference between 18 and 34.

I know I chimed in here awhile back...just want to follow up on it.

Super - I’m wondering if you want to have a go at the course over the next couple weeks? I was planning on getting at it on a weekday during the day sometime. I’m a bread distributor in the Burlington/Waterdown/West Hamilton area, so I find myself down that way 3 or 4 days a week (Mon/Tues/Thurs...sometimes Friday). My hours are anywhere between midnight and noon. Generally, my goal is to finish up and get back to the city to get out for a run before I pick my daughter up at 3:30.

If you’re down for it...awesome. I’m definitely going to get up there. No pressure though man...life’s life and all that.

You’ve probably seen them, but here are the courses:

The 18:

The 35:

Bender - you’re obviously welcome too, but I imagine you’re in Toronto during those hours?

Oh ya...and the run comes with free bread, if you’re a fan of Rudolph’s.

Good timing mark. I’m off work for two weeks starting tomorrow and a test run is always a good idea. Although pace wouldn’t match most of your recent training.

Let me know when you plan to do it and I can probably manage it too.

If timing is good, I will try to join you as well.

Right on guys.

I was thinking next Thursday or Friday at around 9:00 - 9:30.

Doable?

Bender:
Likely going either this Sunday or Monday morning if anyone can’t do the weekday thing.

Thursday would be doable for me, Friday would not.

Well it was a scorcher this morning out there with only two or three missed turns. It solidified my thoughts re switching to the 18k ...writing was on the wall that three loops of that on a hot morning and on out of shape legs would be a recipe for severe suffering and potential heat stroke. Getting soft in my middle age years.

See ya’ll on the starting line; looks like The Griz is also signed up for the 18k rollercoaster.
