I was really stunned how much political punishment Zatopek went through and that he died at 78...I think he was caught up in the idea that after 30 you were done...Paavo Nurmi was and so was Ron Clarke.

And yet after 9 years of Attackpoint comeback I still find new nagging injuries to set me back...normally I can push through something like this but it hurts too much. I did back to back days of 6 miles in heat/humidity, jog and walking and it felt great to put in nearly hour and half and the first day I felt those 20 yard surges were a step in the right direction for another method to regain some quickness...this soreness shows how weak the push off muscles are...2 years ago when first started the 100 walk/jog I damaged my right calf pushing off from dead starts which made me go back to doing rolling jog starts. But as soon as I get in 2 or 3 weeks of good training I'll not be able to stop some sort of day dreaming...I really do need to just get out and run a 5k then a few weeks to couple of months later another and anther...If I had run one every 2 months for the past 9 years that would be over 50 races that would have helped my speed also...anyway good luck on your end up there in Finland USA.
