We saw warnings of that in the last few days but hadn’t ventured that way until heading to Pond Mt today. Seems mostly warn in, except the edges. So tricky. We’ll be avoiding that stretch for a while.
It wasn’t terrible, but I would certainly prefer another route for a while. The only place it seemed loose was coming down the hill heading eastbound, and that was a bit unsettling.
It's fine after it settles in. But that takes a while. Sure beats Northampton's method of road repair. Do nothing for a long while; then a crappy patch job.
The chip seal they did when I lived in Colorado made the roads unusable for bicycles, and quicky wore off of two strips that were effectively ruts, which meant that all future car traffic stayed in the same spot and accelerated wear. When they did my neighborhood, it was a disaster.
