That’s quite a week of racing. Nice job!
I hear you on moving stress. Jon refuses to worry until the day before. He’s no fun.
I am usually a pretty chill person but we have a bunch of large furniture that I thought would be easy to get rid of but no luck so far. Even for free, no takers. July is tough that way. I really don’t want to have to throw things out! And then we wanted to hire someone to clean up the apartment to Norwegian moving standards but that turns out to be an order of magnitude more expensive than we thought, so we need a lot of time to clean, too. Blergh.
Boo, good luck with it all.
Update: my sister drew up a pretty little sign and we posted it in a student housing building that I suspected had a lot of foreign families living in it. Two hours later a guy from Ethiopia had taken both a bed and our couch!
Also I went ahead and booked someone to clean because ain’t nobody got time for that. Hope she doesn’t take the upper end of her estimate, though!
Update 2: based on our earlier success we made three more fliers and posted in three additional buildings. Now a man from Ghana is taking most of our kitchen stuff!
Hooray for fliers and purge-progress!
Good for you, good for the immigrants!
Brilliant! And don’t beat yourself up on cleaning cost. We did one major move-out cleaning for Army housing ourselves, and we will never do that again. Paying the pros is worth the sanity!
Yay, that is win-win right there! You got rid of stuff you don't need and people who do need it got it. Nice.
Good luck with the move. I remember going to an A meet in St. Louis right before moving, and wondering why we decided that would be a good idea. (The meet was fun, the moving, not so much.)
