I reckon we had my best one at our Stockholm hotel. Cereals (not just no content ones I've had at some other Euro places), meats, cheese, eggs scrambled and boiled, yogurt, juice, bacon, hot chocolate, fruit, croissants, bread, pancakes - I forget what else. No fish.
My Stockholm hostel's buffet breakfast offered ricotta, radishes and Ryvita, among other things. Reminded me of when mum discovered the Pritikin diet in the early '80s...
Oh... there was fish but it was with all the pickled foods near the cheese :)
Okay then, there was fish too.
The all-time breakfast visual treat was watching at the YHA in Aandalsnes people piling porridge on top of kippers or herrings (some sort of bony fish). Pile was about10cm high.
It was! all I could think about were the very thin and spiky bones - yuck!
The Scandic Hotel breakfast buffets are pretty amazing (although I leave the fish well alone).
My first-world problem is; i only stay there when HSK has booked it as our race accommodation. So can never take full advantage of the offerings, as I'm always racing 2-3hrs afterwards!
