Well done for sticking it out. Lots of us wouldn't have.

Thanks Blair. Considered pulling out at 14, but finishing the course was almost the same distance as running back on the road.

Gee Aislinn, legendary week. Given it's my Swedish home terrain, I'm browsing all the logs of those who rang Oringen to see what they thought of the great Ovik terrain. Any (printable) comments? :-)

If it's any consolation everyone has trouble in those forests at some stage or other. On one of the areas used for oringen I once took 15 minutes just putting one control out for club training - and I was walking!

Hey Ecmo. The terrain was really nice and quite interesting, odd to see any Swedish terrain so dry but I think that helped with runnability a bit. There were some really beautiful parts, particularly on the hilltops.

I think a few things compounded on Friday - maybe just looking for excuses but it was pretty hot, I didn't take any gels, and I didn't eat before the run. The terrain is difficult and physical anyway, but dehydration and lack of food certainly didn't give me a clear head.
