good luck on your CARA race tom. Come up to rockford next weekend, and make it 2 CARA races in a row! They are allowing 20 minutes until the next heat after masters, so plenty of time for you to slot in.
Ha ha! No way am I going to run that race....this guy, who is the top of my age group now, might be there. He won our age group this morning at Northwestern, running more than twice as fast as me.
HA ha! Its not about 'that guy'. Its about you. And even if he shows, you might carve out an honorable 2nd or 3d. Maybe you'll awaken your inner miler? Even if you upped your 4 mi pace by a couple of minutes, that would be something noteworthy, wouldn't it? We are all experiments of one.
I've been carving out a honorable 5th place in my age group all season; no need to go to Rockford to do it again.
I would like to see you and Soupbone run a fast mile. But to devote all Saturday to a 5 minute thrill just doesn't seem like a good use of my time. Good luck. Let me know if you'd like to spend the night before or after.
Well I'm devoting the whole weekend to 6 minutes and change, camping, trailrunning, climbing at the gym in bloomington and hitting various world- healthy culinary establishments. call me crazy.
Chi, are there any good golk courses out Rockford way? I could meet up and caddy for you, then visit the race together, and I could take you back to good transit?
I'm sure there are some decent golf courses. However Saturdays are tough to get on. But I like the idea of you being my caddie. Let's keep that thought for next time! :-)
Thanks for the good luck wishes. I wouldn't be running it without you...after all, it was your idea for me to come up there and do it w your 'crew' support as you called it. But your long distance crewing will probably be just as effective.
