Got to make up for some non-running time leading up to Fat Dog.

Great Run and I love the pics!

Thanks. More efficient to go to Georgian and do repeats, but this is a lot more fun.
No GPS so I don't know the vertical, other than it was as much as I could find.

Jens Voigt would be proud of the successful SUL 1 & 2!!!!

CO, 4 hours of hills is basically a walk out your back yard. We have to work a bit harder in Caleon to find vertical.

That's part of why I'm so impressed - you really had to be determined to get that much climbing. I end up doing that much around here but don't have a choice. Good on you for seeking it out!

We'd rather be seeking it out with you, CO! :) And another Phone Hunt would be fun too. It's been months since I've done one.

Maybe we will see you out here again soon...? :)

Yes, it would be fun to show you more favourite spots in the mountains around here.
I read somewhere about you going to BC for 5 days for an ultra? Which one?

Fat Dog! Come and pace me! I'm sure you guys have nothing fun to do next weekend. You never do, lol. :)

I was thinking the timing sounded like Fat Dog! Cool! Are there many(any) access points on the route, or does "pacing" mean I'm essentially running the whole thing (or most of it) too? I would use the excuse that I haven't been training for long runs, but it seems like you don't need to train, just go out and do them ;)

Ah, I see there is a relay option too, so there are obviously points to access the race course.
What distance are you doing?

I’m registered for the 70 miler. I trained for the 40 miler. Oops! I don’t have the numbers in front of me but pacers are allowed in the 2nd half of the race, more or less, and there are several different access points. If your arm is at all twistable, it would be great to have company to scare the bears. I was just planning to run alone but I talked with Myka about it recently since she’d considered driving over to visit. Alas, she wasn’t able to get away.

I’m in the 40 miler bunny race.

We have an extra bed in our room at Manning Park Resort for any visitors, whether or not they pace Saturday overnight. It would be fun to see friends but it seemed too far away from our western friends so I didn’t think it made sense.

Thanks so much for the invite to a cool event, and an extra bed. Unfortunately the timing doesn't work out (we are in Squamish to mountain bike about a week later, but it would be too much to add another week onto that holiday) and it is a bit far to "pop over" just for the race.
Good luck! I'll be interested to hear how it goes and what you think of it. I've heard it is a beautiful course.
I now have images in my mind of 'Bent running with bunny ears on; please don't disappoint us 'Bent :)

I plan to hop the trail with my arms folded up in front of me in preying mantis position too.

Photos won't count. Must have video.
This could become a new "fastest known time" category...

No worries, when I looked at driving distances on Google Maps a few months ago, I figured I could only ask someone who lived in Vancouver - and then Phatty and Leanimal moved to France so I couldn't think of anyone. Then I remembered that Myka had said she might drive out to Fat Dog to visit but by the time I thought of it, she also had other vacation plans in August. I was expecting to run alone and given that I haven't trained properly, that may be all for the best! :)
