Some interesting stuff going on in the Baltic at the moment. When the winds blow offshore for long enough, you can get upwelling near the coast (cold water coming up from the deep ocean to replace the surface water that's being pushed offshore) - Robe is somewhat notorious for this.
Most of the Baltic proper now has sea surface temperatures in the low to mid 20s, but on parts of the east coast where upwelling has been happening it's a different story - one Estonian site was reporting a water temperature yesterday of 5....
I didn't realise that Robe is in the Baltic :)
That explains what I felt when we stayed at Robe.
