The beer festival sounds fun!
also, it's not like you can un-do exercise, you just earned your beer!
Sounds super fun, Ed is upset that we didn't come join you guys, since we were vaguely in the correct area.
You were pretty close. It was at okemo
It was definitely fun! An all ages event - little kids dancing around (with soda tasting, color changing plastic steins), live music, and beer. And the caramel/fudge sauce company (with samples), and the pie place ...
Okemo is trying (like all the alpine areas) to bring in events all summer to keep the place busy. Otherwise they become ghost towns in the summer. I'm working with a local race promoter who is trying to put on a big triathlon based out of Okemo next year. With all the infrastructure at the base lodge/villages, they are great places to host lots of people.
If you took 103 from Rutland to Ludlow, you were closest to Weston where we were. I was working on my newest ill advised purchase.
.....not another truck?
We had come from a canoe race in Westmoreland, NH. We went up 100 from Okemo to Killington, where we stayed overnight before a visit with Bridget at camp in Pittsford, VT.
'75 VW Bus. Pulled the engine the day after I bought it and currently its sitting in pieces in Weston as I find parts. Plan is to fix it up and use it transport all the Bullitt Timing gear instead of renting cargo vans.
Next time you head to Pittsford, let us know. We would love to have you join us for a night in Weston at my pace if the timing works out. The trails right out the door are excellent, and if the water level is high enough, I can send you down the Utley from Landgrove to the West River in Londonderry, which is all awesome back country river.
Thanks for the offer. You aren't on our normal route to Pittsford - we were heading up from the Brattleboro area - but perhaps we can make a special trip up there sometime? Perhaps when my legs are working again, as trails aren't much fun at the moment when all you can do is look at them and perhaps hike flat ones.
I thought the plan was to buy a modern (southern) van? I assume the VW needs quite a bit of work to make it viable/reliable as it is almost as old as me and I need some work soon!
I love that you two are chatting in my log ... come, bring bread, we have beer, chat in person!
