Worse is after we got home I had thought we left Austria on a Sunday and somehow got home on Tuesday (we were only in Doha for an hour - shortest stopover ever!) Thankfully it wasn't that bad - I remembered that the last race and party were on Sunday, not Saturday as they usually are.

Speaking of WOC parties, the coaches and officials got a sit down dinner whereas the athletes got bread, sliced meats, cheeses and access to alcohol. I felt ripped off (I don't drink wine or beer) - thought my 30 Euros were worth a bit more than that!

Actually it doesn't look like we paid for the banquet so I guess I can't complain.

Perhaps my strangest time zone/date line experience was flying from the US to Australia over New Year's Eve at the end of 1989 - I went in and out of the 1990s three times before being stuck in them for a decade.
