Z-man, you would be proud of my compass work when you see my long routs execution, compass works slow here, but sun is perfect :)
Thank you, men!

I was the very first starter and finisher, it was me and the bears in the woods, so cool, no destructions.

Oh, there was destruction all right—that’s for sure! ;)

Maybe we should call you Baltero, the Destroyer!

Baltero has a nice collection of North American and US Champion and age group championships (including relays). For the fans at home, can someone please list his accolades?

I have hard time counting those, but over all I have more than 60 medals in those in last 25 years, with 1995 M21 US Champs gold :), being the first one.
Orienteering USA has web page for all winners, all years, I believe.

Yeah, I remember the highs and lows of Baltero.

One of the highs was the US Champs 1995 at Pontiac Lake Michigan. I was glad I was there to witness it.

A low was plumbed somewhere near Moneyhole Mountain when you encountered an American automobile in an intimate fashion. But, the legend was born.

The fun part was that, I ran into it, not vice versa :), but also, during the race, I got hit by a branch just above my eye, cut eyebrow, was bleeding like hell, got lost... Oh, the fun times.
