Wow! You're such a lucky guy! Not many Americans get out to the archipelago AND a medieval city AND one of the most enjoyable modern cities in the world! All in the same week!

Your head must be spinning. I did all that over a period of several years while I was courting my now-wife Sari, who lived in Sudermalm at the time. I used to go over for a week every three months...and saw Sweden spring, summer, winter and fall. Loved the simple remoteness of the archipelago. We liked the island of Uto...further south, and a bit more developed, with a few simple restaurants, guest houses and rental bikes. Congrats to Zan, whom I'm guessing set up this fabulous holiday

Yes, quite the trip! Now 1.5 day turn-around to prep for 50th HS reunion in Escanaba.
We stayed with Jonas' parents the full 2 weeks in Sweden. They have apt/condo in Stockholm, cottage on small Ekhomen island, and old farmhouse on Gotland -- they rent and trade places on all 3 venues. Zan & Jonas joined us for first week -- got to meet relatives and friends. Wonderful hosts and friends! Self-planned vacation with coordination of schedules the biggest challenge. WOW worked well for flights.
Stockholm's big construction projects were impressive; GREAT bike trails throughout city; and they love their water! Ekhomen was very small with one gift shop -- I didn't have quite the energy to join Z&J on 2 mile swim around island. J took us on 2-day sail, camp on island. Gotland had phenomenal coasts and Visby -- churches [current and ruins] everywhere. Casual mention of 13th & 15th century structures & history was awesome from American perspective. Those Vikings and then Catholics got around early!
