Lol! I had the tracker on a string with a carabiner that was clipped to my pack. I had taken the pack off and I'm guessing I must have bumped the carabiner.
I guess that makes a good case for using a locking carabiner! Last time I looked, they were a lot cheaper than $500!
True! Or I could just tie a knot since I don't need to remove it all day. It still boggles my mind that this happened. I've given countless pre-race briefings to adventure racers telling them how to carry their trackers and how not to lose them.
On the bright side, it was a fun adventure to retrieve my lost tracker!
That does sound like fun (especially when it ends on a positive note). Almost a disappointment that you found it so quickly :)
Almost - but nah!! :) I was so chuffed. It gave us time to go for a paddle on our way home, which was awesome since I was on a tight schedule.
