I did it from the Cowl Fork side. No path at all. Short bushy section to start when leaving the contour path, then some steep grass side-slopes on the right before boulder-hopping and scrambling up the riverbed all the way up. Going down the Keith Bush side there is a large overgrown scree field which I tried to avoid. Lots of rocks covered by grass so slow-going. Worst section of bush was crossing the Mhlawazini right at the end to get to Keith Bush itself - maybe there was a better line that I missed!

Still well worth doing, but in the mindset of a mountain adventure rather than a run ;)

Took me almost 3 hours for the 5km from the contour path up and over to Keith Bush.

Thanks! Have always looked at the scree field from Gray's and thought it looked pretty fun to go up, but always different when you're actually on it. Will have to give it a try sometime though! And Gatberg as well :)
