You don't... well to be honest while you will be swimming and getting tired and will be building muscle strength I don't think you need to worry about gaining. You only really start gaining muscle weight when you get to the level of intense practices that competitive swimmers do. Since triathlon focuses multiple endurance sports and longevity I don't think you will do many workouts that are designed for speed/strength and that tear muscles to rebuild then as you will be focusing on endurance.
