You could have run a few miles south and had company. Today was the 35th Nipmuck and in honor of that achievement there was a 35 mile option that extended the course up to Two Pipes in Yale Forest. Course cutoff stayed at 8 hours though, so the long version was only for the speedy ones..
I knew it was Nipmuck day and intended to stop by the Boston Hollow refreshment stop after the run but when I got back to my car at 11:00, I found a shelter with food and drink set up right next to it. Without knowing, I had parked at the 35 mile northern turnaround. Stayed to watch the lead runner come in and then headed for home.
