I thought that was just a weird way of saying 4:1 but no it was in fact 12:3. That's the smallest parkrun turnout I've seen (although I haven't seen that many).
It hurt me to say 12:3 (being a trained Maths teacher and all). It's a big load for the RD and running community. There is rumour that another is starting at Scone, but that's about an hour's drive away. It was interesting too that the race briefing included promos for local social events so in these tough times (in the bush) keeping parkrun going is important for so many reasons. Plus it is a good advert for local kids to see their parents exercising - again not easy to manage in rural areas.
If you were in Merriwa, I hope you found Pluto: https://www.solarsystemdrive.com/pluto.html
Pluto is on the Merriwa parkrun course & tinytoes passed it 4 times - not a bad record for a 5km run
incidentally the nominal scale of the virtual solar system is 1:38,000,000 with the Sun at Siding Springs, so driving at 60km/hr through Merriwa (Pluto) is virtually travelling at twice the speed of light - that may be why the police highway patrol was setting up their speed camera across the road from the Pluto sign on Friday afternoon.
