I assume you bought an elliptical machine? Which brand? How do you like it? I used an ellipse for the first time while I was recovering from my knee injury. I felt a bit odd at first, but you can definitely get a good workout.
Yep, we just go it the other night. It's a ProForm 800. We got it because Rick isn't supposed to run for a while and we're always looking for ways to keep in shape during the winter months. This is only my second workout but I like it. It has nice speakers that allow you to connect up with an Ipod and we have a decent TV in front of it. I'm not sure how well the workout will translate to keeping us in shape for running.
Having a TV is important to reduce boredom. :-) Ipods are good too, especially if you have music with a cadence you want to exercise to...
I believe in cross-training as far as keeping muscles toned, and am surprised at how much the stepping workouts I do in my exercise classes help keep me fit for orienteering. It's good for your muscles to mix it up every once in awhile (and keep them guessing?).
