Yes. I have done a few, but am now tackling it on a larger scale. One type of thing a month makes it seem less daunting - especially for one of us.
The true test will be if all of the free space being created stays free space.
I was doing well for awhile, then Mom downsized and sent a bunch of stuff home with me. Then Orienteering Ontario's long lost files were released after a decade of being hidden away, and they ended up here too.
I set several small tasks each day like, "I am going to select one book from those shelves" or "one shirt from this closet". It's a drop in the bucket though.
London mom downsizing twice made our clutter look much worse. We also have stuff for both daughters, my mom and my dad in addition to our own hording.
Last month I did linen. This month is art and video. Books are ongoing - distributing them is the hard part because very few places want them any more.
Our local ReStore takes them although I don't know how many of them actually sell. :(
I filled the library at Shelburne mom’s, mostly with London mom’s books and can still find a spot for a few at a time as some drift to new homes.
When the giant free library downtown is open I drop half a dozen at a time there - basically what I can carry in one hand while walking over.
