It would have been really good to have all this slush, mixed in with slippery wet leaves. Yayyyy

Haha, the shittier the conditions the better! I remember once showing up to a cross country race in a sort of undulating area with lumpier grass (I thought hey, this is better than the usual loops around a mowed field)... People were taping their ankles ;).

Danish Dynamite:
Leaves are dangerous. When wet, people will slip and fall, and just like that their season is gone.

Indoor Uni 4x800 or 4x400. Now those are dangerous races!

Wow, that looks nasty!

I think there were actual punches thrown in an CIS Track race a few years ago.

Wouldn’t even be surprised.
But, @salal - you’re so right. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going!!

We once had a cross-country race in Canberra that included about 1km of tussock grass. The normal runners didn't know what had hit them.

Now THAT would be a sight that I would pay to see!

The year i lived in norway as a kid our xc course was an 800m loop with about 20m of climb some tussock grass for 200m and two stone walls you had to jump over.

cyclo cross isn’t afraid of mud and obstacles but they aren’t princesses like the average track runner
