well that depends. lots of forest legs are straight whereas sprint often that is never possible and then add traps i’d argue choosing a sprint route is at least as tough as forest and so the more you practice the better

Yes it is, but a 2km leg in a different kind of forest gives you a bit more to think about or more time on one leg. So you're route choice and then all the microroute choices, where a sprint the descission happens a lot quicker.
I suppose it is more that I like to wake up and spend 5 minutes on a long forest leg rather then a 1 minute sprint leg
