Is it a pony (young horse) or a pony? I have a friend who is a vet who is also getting a horse. She made a bit of a big move as well - she bought a new property - i think to house it.
A pony was my unrealistic Christmas wish since an early age (and the required size grew as l grew) but of course it never came. Every Christmas morning I'd look in the back yard just to make sure.
I added a puppy onto the list in later life but that never came either (going away so often makes a puppy unrealistic now).
I guess endorphins is all that is on the list now.
Well, we know what to get you next Christmas then!
Christmas presents were never really a thing in our household during my childhood (thanks to the JW influence on my mum's upbringing) but my parents get into it a bit more now - dad was so pleased with himself this year for giving me a whole 10-pack of AA batteries :)
Batteries? That's the secret to your demeanour!! Glad to know.
Prue - you got me all excited!!! about the pony.
Not being a runner in any sense (was a "sprinter" when very young but that was just by virtue of my early physical development which promptly stopped at age 12) I've guessed at what this endorphin rush was about. BUT I actually had it twice - both during Zumba classes... when Zumba classes were really good! Couldn't imagine what it would be like getting it "all the time".
Modern proverb: She who receives enough batteries to power a headlamp through a number of all-night rogaines, considers herself to be rich when compared to her spouse who receives a ream of printer paper which his spouse will use up anyway.
Gotta love my folks - they're such practical souls :)
Admittedly there is room in life for daydreaming about a 'pony' also...have been admiring the new Mustangs!
I got a toilet seat this year.
jennycas - Mustang - as in vehicle? I have lusted after a Mustang since my late teens and they always turn my head when I see one. But rockman's first Christmas present to me was a Matchbox white Mustang. Still have it of course.
Saw a gorgeous black one in Newtown on Fri night (sorry Prue, we are not talking equines any more. BTW, hope the toilet seat was at least the heated kind).
Heated.. this Christmas. Refrigerated would be better.
