Looks like you're going to end up with 5 days in a row over 42. Previous record for the airport was 3 (with a record of 5 for 40+ days). The old site in town did have a 5-day 42+ run in 1939 (probably the only comparable heatwave to the current one in southern NSW).

The record run of 35+ days is 14. If the current forecast is right you'll equal that (at least).

Did we get a record temp for Jan today? Previous was 44.8 I think and I saw a 45 there once this arvo (or I may have been delirious when the aircon stopped working at work)

Record for the airport (and equal record for any month, ditto the minimum of 29.8). The old site in town - whose registered coordinates are just about underneath your old house, although I suspect they aren't accurate - had a 47.2 in the January 1939 heatwave. It was a hotter site than the airport but probably not that much hotter.
