Pretty scary! Easy to go really fast there and lots of curves.

And it would hurt to fly over that guard rail. Yikes! Who would want to live in such a dangerous town? ;)

Can you imagine hitting a deer and flipping into cactus? Amazing that didn’t happen. Dangerous town indeed!

No fun for the deer either.

Luckily, the 2nd cyclist who met the deer was riding uphill.

My local xc skiing peep and her hubby are headed there soon....lots of folks sent her the video before I stole it from here and sent it to her. She has been there before and has seen deer while riding, although thankfully not quite that close.
Ironically, they are avid hunters......

A lot of our friends do triathlon training in Tucson, and they all talk about this ride. No one has ever mentioned the deer before. Most of my friends just do the uphill ride, which appears to be safer!

I have never ridden the whole way up but I can certainly attest to the fact that ascending even parts of Mt Lemmon, while hard work, is a lot more relaxing than descending.
