I can recommend using a T.E.N.S. machine. When my sciatica kicked off again in the autumn, I got only limited relief from the physio exercises, but using the tens unit really took most of the discomfort away.
Ski machine? Doing something new and quite a lot of time might have gradually aggravated something.

Both doctor and physio AS confirm not sciatica but calf muscle issue. Cramping? Brutal calf massaging by physio. Another appt Thursday morning. See how we go. No swelling/bruising but extremely sore.
