Discussion: End of the world....

I loved the item on BBC News this morning where they said something like "A potentially life threatening stream of cold weather will hit parts of America today bringing the temperature down to below -30, or colder than the south pole".... which sounds very dramatic until you add "and slightly warmer than it has been in Finland last week where 6 million people carried on their normal lifestyle with high western standards of living...... admittedly America doesn't always count as a developed country with high standards of living in my perspective, so it probably is life threatening there...
