The GPS track makes it look like you were struggling to find the route. Try over Chest Peak too, it means you get to do all of the gorge and is quite a nice loop. :-)

Its the Ultra trac setting on garmin, its pretty in accurate, but saves a shitload of battery power.
Yes, pretty keen to do the whole chest peak loop sometime! Maybe when the Waimak is up a little bit, Sam's video of your trip make the river look quite exciting! Unfortunately we had to much time to just go to Salmon creek biv, but limited time as we had to get Angus back to the airport, so we did a bit of off trail navigation for good measure
