...you mean the one near Mt Howitt? What a fabulous place to go for a run. You are seeing more of Victoria than the rest of us.

Yep, we camped at Gantner Hut then went out for a run (at least James ran like some kinda mountain goat and I faffed on the rocks!)

It's marvellous there. I'm surprised you called this a 'run'. Great hut too.

Ha! I call anything that involves running, and I'm moving as fast as i can, a run. In reality the first and last 2k were a run and the rest was a scramble with occasional bits of running for me and running and waiting for James (he got a lot of rests).

I don't recall it having much of a scramble, cracking ridge run though.

Looking at your gps, did you go to the spring? Still water available? Remember that being a ridiculously slow trickle (which wasn't much fun when filling 5l or so) though can't remember if it's reliable in the height of summer.

Wow, didn't realise you'd got that far. Not a proper scramble just a bit slow going for those of us lacking mountain goat tendencies, think James managed 3.30 min/k down one hill. Little worried he might just fly off the edge. At least he got the snakes out the way.

And yeah, camped at the hut and drank from the spring, though James' dad just told us we're going to get worms.

Yeah, we did the whole Buller huts circuit over five days, though my log does also call Crosscut scrambly so it clearly is more than I remember! That's one of the huts we didn't make it to, have heard it's pretty nice though.

The springs up there are fine, being so close to the source, so much better than many other weird places I've tried to get water.

We were meant to be up there to spectate my mate doing hut 2 hut 100k, but it started friday. He did it in 16 hours...
