If you do end up trying Perth, I recommend Paul Stobie. He is a runner and happy to take as long as needed to answer all your questions. My first cardiologist once stood up and walked me out the door while I was trying to ask him a question (and I still had many more questions).
Allegedly specialists are renowned for their arrogance, lack of communications skills and general blinkered thinking - but they're apparently very good at the technical aspects of their extremely narrow area of expertise and scope of practice. Trouble is, the general public assume that they know more about everything. Definitely go with recommendations, not with 'any' one.
My understanding is that it’s not even a cardiologist who does the tests - they just interpret the results. If I’m right, that means I’ll be getting 2 of the tests done in Perth on Weds next week, but the wait on a multi/halter monitor was worse there than Gero, so that I’ll still get from up here... and whoever the Cardiology mob send the results to will tell me what’s wrong or otherwise.
Probably more complicated if there’s not a clear path of action after that, but I’ll be sure to ask questions if the answer isn’t just to go straight back to what I was doing before.
