Sorry to hear that, Mick. 'Bent broke his toe six weeks before his 101K mountain race at Mont Blanc. It definitely hurt for a while but it got better in time, and he was able to finish the race. Wishing you a swift recovery!
Yikes. I used Hoka shoes with massive thick protective soles. Worked OK. Of course, you can always swim 10 hours a week, unlike us non-aquatic species.
6 weeks and you finished the race! Impressive. I don't know if it is broken or some sort of tendon or ligament injury. I don't think it really matters. I'm lucky it was my little toe. I had no problems cycling to work today. Not much of a setback so far.
