Glad you liked it as another person checking it out. I am excited for this weekend.

The first controls I found technically hard. Number 2 especially. I was really thinking I wasn't in contact with the map until I found it. It's not that it's particularly difficult to run there.....but it is in a straight line. After 2 I was buzzing. Crushed it all the way to 9. The woods are amazing 2-10. Indeed 1-10....but.....11-finish is an absolute slog. And, yes, I was tired mainly due to the effort on the road to 9. I was actually annoyed at how difficult it was because up until that point I thought this is the best area I'd run in TX. (I'd not run on this side of Stubblefield before, the other side has scarred both mine and my dad's frontal lobe). The last 3 controls aren't bad. No Thorn, Poison Ivy etc. It's just heavy going after blasting through beautiful woods earlier.
9 is a tease. I've looked over the GPS and I think I could have been out by 30m. But I was sure I should have been able to see it. Eventually after two relocations at the path I just assumed it hadn't been put out due to its proximity to the path or it was taken.
Great course. There was always a chance of getting completely lost.
I forgot I made a 120 degree error leaving 3 (didn't let needle settle) If I hadn't hit the path I'd still be out there.
