Congratulations on finishing a tough race! Hope the shoulder feels better this morning. Would classical technique stress that shoulder less? I remember striding with you on that rare occasion that you strapped on your diagonal do that very well too! Maybe you want to try that while you rehab your shoulder, especially if you don't switch sides as you skate.

Sitting in Chicago, I think I saw you going up that last hill in the finish chute; you DID look dead tired....slow and deliberate herringbone all the way up! I felt your pain! From my armchair, I still enjoyed the race tho; Web cams and course map graphics were great. Also the elite race coverage (upper left screen) from the back of a snow machine with good commentary.

I know the Coliseum is gone, and I guess the Lodge too. But is there anything left of the Telemark Ski Resort today? Those 'Tony Wise Days,' when Telemark was in it's glory, were a fantastic experience. MNOC used to put on A-meets on that excellent map, and rent that whole lodge for the weekend. A wonderful experience.

I believe the old lodge is still there. We were bussed from a different direction to the start, never saw it for a few years.
Nice big building and tent to stay warm and change your boots at the start.
Next year I’m bringing my collaspable camping chair to the event.

Still miss the lodge to lounge around in before heading to the start line. But no one want to buy a losing property that won’t make $$.

Classical probably will not help. But I will be in Colorado for the snow mountain stampede in two weeks. I signed up for the 25k skate Saturday and 10k classical Sunday.
Ill check out technique a couple of days in advance ha ha.

Very impressive, Charlie!

I've been meaning to tell Kris -- she can only hang with us this summer if she gets the matching camp chair. ;-)

What camp chair??

At WMOC last year, JP and Charlie both had lightweight, comfortable camp chairs that folded up to a tiny size. Theirs were far superior to my heavier, bulkier, tippy tripod stool, so I bought one like theirs when they were on sale at REI a few months ago. ;-)

Easy to travel with, only way to go.

Watch for sales or use member points. We have them too and used them in Denmark. They are very comfortable.
