Your vacation sounds very exotic. But I notice a South African Air Force base not far from your safaris. Are you satisfied that you're 'in the bush' as much as possible?

And speaking of 'training runs,' would it be safe to go for a run from your encampment, out onto the African veld? Maybe this is about the best justification for taking a couple 'rest days' we've seen on a/p!

Yes, the airport was right next door to the preserve boundary but we did not hear planes. Though it says "Air Force", it didn't appear to be active in that sense. However, we were watching a rhino at one point with audible vehicle traffic. Should be different/likely better in Tanzania.

From what I can imagine the temperature there is slightly warmer than I have here at the Biathlon World Championships. ;-)
