I think this must be the same group which take up the entire path having a chat on the Meadows on Thursday's. Even when they see you coming there's no effort to move...sadly I know I'd come off worst if I just ran into them!
Interestingly I did the exact same session about 30mins before you on Tue at Saughton (luckily it was still quiet then), one day I should try and combine.
