I've had the exact same thing--mind unwilling to let myself jump. My muscle activation guy has gotten me to do a few jumping jacks without my having much pain. Still can't make myself at home.

If you continue to have pain doing it, don't!

I decided this morning to try a few hops in my kitchen with my hands on the counters on either side of me. The first one I probably had 90% of my weight on my arms but by about the tenth I was able to do a small hop on one foot without holding on. It's still a long way from being able to jump up onto a step but it was progress! These didn't hurt so there's at least hope I will see improvement if I work on this.

Just such a weird experience to have my mind veto what I wanted to do.

I initially found that out when I thought I should try hop scotch. My mind vetoed it. That sounds like a rapid leap into jumping!
