I would have been struggling, good effort on your part.
On my big mistake the gps shows I started down the correct trail and then turned back after 10 m. Another 40-50 m and I would have been right on track. Hard to keep the nav straight when you're fighting to stay upright and out of the trees.
Next year: more practice on skinny trails at speed.
I admire your "spunk" traveling so far to find, in this case, icy, narrow trails, or wind or something else, perhaps so much trail sorting. Begs the ? as to what is an ideal ski O race course.
The meet you guys put on a few years ago in northern ME was under ideal conditions, as I recall, tho the winter hadn't been very good & conditions further south were discouraging...?
