Here's an interesting video re Swenson granite. Quite the production, from the innards of the earth to the front door steps!

Maybe the old quarries were products of prison labor....?

I’ve done consulting work at Rock of Ages, Swenson’s division in Barre. They were producing 16 ft slabs flat to within a few millionths of an inch for making flat screen TVs.
