As I've watched mere minutes of March Madness, who should I cheer for tonight?

I've got to go with Texas Tech as the Big 12 Conference champ (and a team that KU beat once).

Once Kansas got eliminated, I decided it was baseball season...and now the Royals are 2-6.

Pink Socks:
I was cheering for Texas Tech, for two reasons: Big 12, and they were the team that beat my team-in-law (Gonzaga).

That said, I didn't mind so much that Virginia won. I'm sick and tired of the other ACC elite teams (Duke, UNC, and to a lesser extent, Louisville and Syracuse). So the fact that Virginia won is nice.

I also felt bad for them after last year's loss. Granted, it's better that the first #1 seed to lose wasn't KU or Gonzaga, but it would have been fantastic had it been Duke, UNC, or Kentucky. Also, Virginia's coach is a great guy and used to coach at Washington State (where my father-in-law went), so another reason to root for them.

And the Royals are now 2-7. Maybe we should move on to KU football season? And therefore, we should move on to KU basketball season. Wow, back to college basketball!

I should mention that I had a really hard time getting into KU basketball this year with the Adidas cloud hanging over them all season (this was early in the season, before the injuries and losses started coming, so it wasn't bandwagon-related). Dare I say it, but I feel like I enjoyed following Gonzaga a little more this season.

I've been waiting to respond until the Royals won another game...and that was last night! The Royals are now 3 and 10. By my back-of-the-envelope season projection, I have them finishing the season with 75 wins.

So pessimistic! They could still finish with 152 wins!

Given that they won 58 games last year, you could say that 75 wins is optimistic.

They've won their last 3 games. The Royals are almost as good as the Red Sox so far this season.
