Just reposting this here for people who don't use Basecamp in Canada.
Jan Erik Naess and I are planning on driving down to Cranbrook to do trainings on Kettle Lake, and Double Duck flats. The plan is as follows:
Friday April 19 (Kettle Lake):
[1 - 2 pm] : compass orienteering training with blank map, but map infilled control circles (4x 1km loops or 2x 2km for a total of 4km straight line)
[3:30 - 5 pm] : Mock Middle Race (5.5km straight line) 1 or 2min start intervals, warm up map
Saturday April 20 (Double Duck Flats):
[10:30 - 1 pm] - Mock Long Race (11.6km straight line) 3ish min start intervals, warm up map
[2:30 - 3:30 pm] - relay training with mass starts (3x 2km loops)
If anyone wants to join us let me know ASAP so that I can print maps for you, otherwise you have to use mine and Jan's after our runs.

Other info:
It is completely free (unless you want to donate to my orienteering plane tickets of course).
There will not be flags out unless we get 1 volunteer to do some flagging, I will amend if that gets confirmed.
Timing will be done on your own GPS watch or whatever watch you have.
I realize this doesn't really apply to most Americans and others in Canada because of the distance barrier, but for those keeners out there who feel like driving far for really good orienteering this would be a place to go if you have some spare time that weekend.
