Good luck Koski. Get those long runs in. I'll dare to throw this out...2020...Grandma's. You. Me. Versus the geezer field...haha. I started getting the bug yesterday to race. I'm not sure I can go much longer than 10K...especially marathon. But maybe I can run half or at least the 5k...we'll see.

Main thing is 2019. Good luck to you. Get in at least a 1-3 LONG runs...I'm not sure what this is now days for you but every 3 weeks or so a 15 miler if possible.

Don't overdo it and not get to run tho...do all those preventive exercises, weights, stretches, etc to keep your body balanced.

I had to join Athlinks while signing up for OKC Marathon 5k not sure if you've had to join it. I guess I can 'save' my results. I typed my name in...there were Rick Bagwells along west coast (1) and east coast (several...from up north to down south). I guess they needed one in the middle of the country :)

Toivo!:
It's pretty lame that Boston doesn't have results from the 80's in the archives yet. Really?
I know I ran 2:39 in the early 80's (forget which year) but they're not posted yet.

I thought the finish was a little weird today. A guy was standing out in the street directing the runners where to go...just saying that doesn't sound so bad but it looked like it was a big mistake waiting to happen from what I saw.

I'm 'runned-out'. Between fighting the wind during my workout which seemed to sneak up on me rest of the day...hour by hour I felt a little worse, weaker, drained with a headache gradually getting worse.

I also so much tv running it felt like I had run a marathon between training and tv.

I watched about 85% of the Paris Marathon that took place Sunday...weird that the ole Notre Dame cathedral caught on fire today...it was being remodeled...man oh man how many fires have occurred during that scenario!!! It's on the 'Olympic Channel'...didn't even think about Boston and happened to catch it about 6 minutes into the women's race. With that one girl that won taking the lead at 4 not a lot of drama in it...although second closed 2 minutes or more the last 6 miles or so. I already knew that.

There was a French girl that hung tough in that race...sorry but I'm kinda sick of Ethiopians and Kenyans winning everything...although they do work hard and I guess being born at 25,000 ft altitude just gives you that big advantage...Kenyans sure have a lot of smoke when it comes to drugs...not so sure about the Ethopians...anyway I googled the girl after the race and she had been suspended due to a 'resisted' drug test...but when I read the story I was not sure if she was wrong or the testors...they evidently came up to her in a car in Morocco or Marrakesh to demand the test...she refused and claimed they had been very abusive during the process...the judge in France agreed and granted her permission to run the race.

She hung on and hung on then when you thought she was done and had fallen too far back she started catching them again...so I kinda hope she's clean...she improved from 2:26 to 2:23...they said it was really cold at race time.

As far as I remember in 77 it took about 3 minutes to get to the starting line...I think there were about 3K runners that seemed massive...today 36K runners I think...Paris Marathon had 42K in past and this race they expected 60K...unbelievable. I think these big marathons are drawing people away from the smaller races as they are down 10% or more while big races are doing fine. Heard something to that affect a few days ago...not sure where now...been googling so much stuff lately.
