I have no idea if this is relevant to you, but I spent a long time worrying about eating a gel, then spiking and crashing. What I do now is just eat a single sip or so (maybe 1/4 packet) of a gel every 30-40 minutes. That seems to keep my blood sugar level fairly constant, without spikes or crashes.
Anyway, good racing this weekend. Excited to see what you can do in Denmark!
Might try it at some point if I'm in a similar situation, don't want it leaking all over my pocket though.
